Who knew one of my newest hobbies would be debating with artificial intelligence?
I started trying different AI programs because I have way more ideas than I have time. One AI is great at writing, another is better at images, another makes videos, and another looks at you like, "Best I can do is six fingers and a squirrel wearing sunglasses."
You bounce around until you find the one that almost gets it right.
Then the fun begins.
You type, "Can you move the coffee cup over a little?"
The AI replies, "Absolutely!"
Now the coffee cup is gone, the person's shirt changed colors, the dog has disappeared, and somehow there are two moons in the sky.
"No... just move the coffee cup."
"I've made several improvements!"
You didn't ask for improvements. You asked for a coffee cup relocation!
Sometimes I think I'm in a negotiation.
"No, leave everything else exactly the same."
"I have reimagined your entire concept."
"That wasn't the assignment!"
The funny thing is, AI never gets offended. It just keeps confidently making the wrong changes like it's doing you the biggest favor in the world.
After the tenth attempt, you finally accept that close enough is sometimes as good as it's going to get. You could spend another hour arguing with a computer, or you could actually finish the project and move on with your day.
I've learned that every AI has its own personality. Some are creative. Some are stubborn. Some seem to think every design needs dramatic lighting and someone smiling at the camera.
And every once in a while, one of them absolutely nails the idea on the first try. Those are the moments that keep you coming back.
So yes, I still experiment with different AI tools. They're helping me turn ideas into reality much faster than I ever could on my own. They save time, spark new ideas, and occasionally make me laugh when they completely miss the point.
Just don't expect to win an argument with one.
It never raises its voice.
It never gets frustrated.
It just quietly says, "Here's another version..."
...and somehow made the coffee cup even bigger.
Hopefully, all this experimenting pays off in the long run. Every new tool teaches me something, every project gets a little better, and every once in a while I get a good laugh out of the process. If nothing else, at least the AI gives me plenty of material for my next blog post!
